Statement of  Belief

    We, the members of The First Presbyterian Church, Chester, believe we are called to God through Jesus Christ to be a people of a covenant faith.  In that faith, we seek to fulfill the command to love God, to love one another, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. We confess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord...God Incarnate. In the power of the Holy Spirit, it is He who gives us His depth of compassion so that we are empowered to share His ministry and mission within this community of faith. By bearing with, and caring for, one another in love, humility, gentleness and patience, we try to lead a life worthy of our calling.

    We pray that we will become an even more profound witness to God's grace as we continue to provide food for soul, body, mind, and spirit. As the Holy Spirit leads us to live our lives, we seek to be faithful in good times and hard times, to celebrate the joyful and the ordinary...to the glory of God.
